Gerhardson, Public Works Director V ' <br />DATE:July 21, 1993 <br />SUBJECT: County Road 6 Upgrade *o <br />Recently the City of Orono received notice from Hennepin County that they are planning to <br />upgrade County Road 6 from State Highway 12 southerly and westerly to County Road 90 in <br />Independence. <br />Ron Moorse and I have met with the staff at Hennepin County to review the plan. <br />It is Hennepin County ’s intent to a.:quire right-of-way in 1994 with construction in 1995. <br />Because Hennepin County is applying for funding for this project, they will also consider <br />constructing a bike/hike trail on that part of County Road 6 from Highway 12 to McCuIley <br />Road. <br />Attached for review is correspondence from Hennepin County regarding the improvement. This <br />item was reviewed by the Park Commission at their July meeting. Attached are the draft <br />minutes of July Park Commission meeting stating their comments on the matter. <br />It is recommended that Council appoint one or two members of the Council to work with City <br />and County staff to review the concept of the project as we did on County Road 15. <br />ch <br />1 <br />f
