#/7 <br />To: <br />From: <br />Date: <br />Subject: <br />Mayor Callahan and Orono Councilmernbers <br />Ron Moorse, City Administrator <br />July 8. 1993 <br />Cooperative Service Study Agreement <br />Cn^‘ <br />The City Managers and Administrators of the fourteen Laxe Area Cities have been <br />meeting for a number of months to develop a process for identifying additional opportunities for <br />cooperative provision of services. This effort has resulted in an agreement with the Metropolitan <br />Council to provide staff and other resources to assist the Lake Area Cities in carrying out a <br />comprehensive saidy of how each city provides its various services, then using this information <br />to identify opportunities to provide services more cost effectively through cooperative <br />arrangements. <br />The agreement with the Metropolitan Council, which outlines the study process, is <br />attached. A recent meeting to review the agreement, attended by repiesentatives of all fourteen <br />Lake Area Cities, resulted in unanimous support of the study process and the agreement. <br />Council action requested: Motion to approve the agreement with the Metropolitan <br />Council for the Cooperative Service Study. <br />i
