MINUTES OF THE ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />HELD MAY 17, 1993 <br />ZONING FILE #1823 - CONT. <br />Clair BIoemendaaI, 145 Cygnet Place, testified that the procerty <br />is an eyesore in the neighborhood and has been for many years. She <br />expressed concern that this proposal would only add to tfiat <br />condition. <br />Rowlette questioned the normal size of a three stall garage. <br />Mabusth stated a three stall garage is typically 23 to 30’, and the <br />proposal is oversized. She noted the existing garage exterior is <br />not f i nished. <br />Rossing indicated they hope to do so this summer. <br />Smith inquired as to how long the garage has been uncompleted. <br />Rossing answered two years. <br />Berg asked who the contractor is for the proposal. <br />Rossing said her sons would be aoing the addition. <br />Nolan asked about the materials to be used on the addition. <br />Rossing stated the garages and addition vill be sided with tne same <br />material as the house. <br />Rowlette questioned whether there are time <br />const rue tion. <br />! imitat ~ <br />Mabusth indicated the permit requires an inspection to oe made at <br />least every 6 months or the permit will expire. <br />Rossing indicated she had not been contracted by the BuiIding staff <br />prior to last week regarding the completion of the existing garage. <br />Rowlette said she understood the neighbors’ complaints and <br />suggested screening along the road. <br />Pederson asked if the driveway has been included in the Hardcover <br />calculations ano noted its consicerable size. <br />Mabusth indicated that was included, but added it is appropriate <br />at this time to control the use of the grass for parking of <br />vehicles.
