Change in use may require further consideration or approvals. <br />The City has adopted the Appendix E of the 1985 UBC, which was adopted by <br />the State Building Code. ^ <br />A Significant requirement thus is the building must be protected by a sprinkler <br />system. In addition, Tom Jacobs may require a hydrant be installed on the site <br />City water is not available to supply the cprinklers. However, the lake water <br />source and a fire pump was discussed as a potential solution. Cost of the pump <br />and potential need for an emergency power generator is of concern. Other <br />alternatives may be available and considered. The DNR must be approached for <br />approval on using the lake water source. <br />The building ’s second floor will probably require a second means of egress which <br />would be available from the 3rd floor caretaker ’s apartment stair. Verify the two <br />exits meet one-half the diagonal distance requirement. <br />The building ’s 3^ floor residential occupancy (R) will need to be separated from <br />the 1st and 2nd floor assembly occupancy (A). We do net believe the size of the <br />space requires a second means of egress — Tom Jacobs >W// verify. <br />A formal building code review should be accomplished before proceeding. <br />We have been told that a 30-foot height restriction applies.
