At the Cmincil <br />at which the final year of the program was discussed, the Pheasant Lawn residents <br />that the program should be ongoing beyond 1992. The residents are now requesting <br />that the City continue to assist in the funding of the program. The cost of the program is $1,000 <br />per year. The City’s share has been $200 per year. The Pheasant Lawn Homeowners <br />Association pays the remainder. <br />The program has been effective in controlling the goose popi^tion in the area. Inl992 <br />it was repotted that the goose population had dropped from approximately 300 to 60. <br />Although the City’s cost for this program is small, the program does serve only one area <br />of the City. The Council can expect that if it agrees to contmue to ^ the program for the <br />Pheasant Lawn area it may receive requests from other areas of the CiQ^ for funding of similar <br />programs. <br />. 1 <br />k <br />1
