terms Is hereby established. In order to make the transition from <br />the current one year terms to staggered three year terms._Slhft <br />initial appointments mav be for one or two year terms. As future <br />three year appointments are made, the terms will then be staggered. <br />The period of these terms is for 1 April to 31 March and shall be <br />appointed by the 2nd business meeting March. <br />It is the policy of the Council to appoint persons to the Planning <br />Commission as follows: <br />Two of the members shall reside in and be appointed <br />to represent the Rural Service Area of the City as defined in the <br />Comprehensive Management Plan, two members residing in and <br />appointed to represent the Urban Service Area, one appointed that <br />resides on Lake Minnetonka lakeshore property and two shall be <br />appointed to represent the City At Large. The Council by majority <br />vote may deviate from this policy to appoint persons without <br />specific designation. The Zoning Administrator and one Council <br />member shall be members of the Commission ex officio and without <br />vote. <br />Subd. 2. Powers and Duties. The Plauming Commission <br />shall be the Planning Agency of the City and be an advisory body to <br />Council. The Commission shall have the power, under the <br />direction of the Council, to carry on the duties set forth in <br />Minnesota Statutes, and those duties provided by this Code and such <br />ng prescribed by the Council from time to time. The <br />Commission shall hold a regular meeting once each month and keep <br />records of its proceedings. <br />4 <br />J
