The comprehensive repair would deal with tha replacement and
improvement of the road, stabilisation of the road bed and a refilling of
the shoreline that was washed away with the storm. The Director has had no
success in dealing with the 4 property owners and has recommended that
because of the question of public safety we proceed with the repair of the
road bed and allow the individual property owners to apply for individual
conditional use permit applications that involve the filling of the
lakeshore property adjacent to the road bed.
Please review Exhibit D. Cook's letter suggests two options or methods of
repair of the road bed. Both Cook and Gerhardson have selected option one
as the method having least Impact on the sensitive area. Review Exhibit P.
A cross profile has been shown by the engineering staff of both options.
The Duckbill option, option 1, is at the top of the page, in addition to a
staff sketch of a simple elevation depicting what it would appear like from
the lake looking toward Crystal Bay Road. A 5 foot high retaining wall
will be just below the road bed and would remain until the individual
property owners would apply for the appropriate Conditional Use Permits to
fill in the land area adjacent to their shoreline that was washed out in
I
1
m
%
J
