Through the late 1970's, it bought indoor <br />ice 10 increasing amounts at a number of far-flung arenas—Breck, <br />Minnetonka and Draemar, for example. <br />• Finally, in 1981, the Orono Hockey Boosters solved its indoor ice problems <br />by joining with the Mound Hockey Association in the development <br />(without public assistance) of the Pond Arena in Mound. Both the Orono <br />aiKl Mound High School programs continue to use the arena. <br />• In 1989, the Orono Hockey Bo jsters' share of Pond Arena ice fell short <br />of its requirements, and it started to buy ice time at the Delano Arena. <br />This solution, successful initially, continues to fall short due to the ever <br />increasing demands placed on exisbng arenas. <br />Programming and Preliminary Concepts
