Applicant proposes the excavation of 2.000 cubic <br />yards of peat over a ten year period of time. <br />Section 10.55. Todd Letter of 11/15/94 (50 Landmark Drive) <br />Brief Review of Application <br />Please refer to staff memo of November 17. 1994 and the minutes of the November 21st <br />Planning Commission for more background on this review. <br />The applicant proposes the dredging of approximately 2.(XX) cubic yards of peat over a ten year <br />period of time. The proposal involves the creation of two ponds within a designated wetland <br />located within the property, the smaller pond is 5.000 s.f. in area and the larger pond is <br />approximately 25.000 s.f. (refer to Exhibit J) .68 acres of open water area will be created. <br />3.2 acres of wetland within applicant’s property is part of a contiguous wetland system consisting <br />of 150 acres. It has been estimated that the smaller pond will take two years to create and the <br />larger eight years. <br />The wetland is not a DNR protected wetland. Both the DNR and Watershed District will not <br />require permits. The proposed scope of the excavations will fall under the Army Corps of <br />Engineers nation-wide permit.
