AGREEMENT AND CONTRACT FOR LAN QIFORCEMENT <br />THIS AGREEMENT AND CONTRACT made and entered into this <br />day of _ _ _ _ , 19_ _, by and between the CITY OF <br />ORONO, Minnesota and the CITY OF LONG LAKE, Minnesota, is made <br />under and by virtue of Minnesota Statutes, Section 471.59. <br />WITNESSETH <br />NHEREAS, the City of Long Lake is desirous of contracting with <br />the City of Orono for the performance of law enforcement seirvices <br />within the City of Long Lake, and <br />NHBRBAS, the City of Orono is agreeable to render law <br />enforcement services on the terms and conditions hereinafter set <br />forth, and <br />WHEREAS, a contract such as this is authorized under and by <br />virtue of the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, Section 471.59, <br />NON, THEREFCH^, the City of Orono agrees that it will provide <br />law enforcement services for the City of Long Lake on the following <br />terms and conditions and the City of Long Lake agrees as follows; <br />1. Definition of terms. For the purpose of this Agreement, the <br />terms in this Agreement shall have the meanings given to them in <br />this section. <br />A. "Contract year" means a 12 month period during which law <br />enforcement services are to be rendered or were reiidered to <br />the Contract Cities by the City of Orono. The contract year <br />shall commence on January 1 and terminate on the next December <br />31. <br />B. "Contracting Cities" means any city which is a party to <br />this contract or a similar contract which by its terms is <br />interrelated with this contract for the purposes of allocating <br />the total cost for law enforcement services. The contracting <br />cities are Orono, Long Lake, Minnetonka Leach, and Spring <br />Park. <br />C.
