before January 1, 1982: or <br />(b) 82 decibels in tte case of marine engines or motorboats manufaemred on <br />or after January 1, 1982; or <br />(c) 8i decibels in the case of personal watercraft water jet pump engines <br />manufactured after January 1, 1992. <br />Section 5. Enforcement. <br />The enforcement of this ordinance shall be the primar>' responsibility of the peace <br />officers of the Orono Police Department or the Hennepin County Sheriffs Department. Other <br />licensed peace officers including Conservation Officers of the Department of Natural Resources <br />of the State of Minnesota and volunteer members of the Hennepin County Water Patrol are also <br />authorized to enforce this ordinance. <br />Section 6. <br />All authorized Resource Management, Emergency and Enforcement Personnel, <br />while acting in the performance of their assigned duties are exempt from the foregoing <br />restrictions. <br />Section 7. <br />It shall be the responsibility of the cities of Long Lake and Orono to provide for <br />adequate notification of the public, which shall include placement of a sign at each public <br />watercraft launching facility outlining essential elements of the ordinance, as well as the <br />Ir <br />placement of necessary buoys and signs. <br />Section 8. Penalties. <br />Any person who violates the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a <br />misdemeanor punishable by 90 days incarceration and/or a $700.00 file or both.
