He <br />stated he supported the proposal. <br />Mr. Mitchell staled he was an attorney represeatiag Mr. and Mrs. Louis Smeriing, and <br />they were appreciative of the changes that the applicanta had made to address their <br />concerns. He submitted a letter which detailed items which still concern the Smerlings. <br />These include that the house be buih according to Orono building codes and they add <br />shutters to the windows facing the Smerlinp property. They ate also concerned <br />regarding the drainage and trust that it will be satisfactorily resolved. Lindquist asked if <br />the Smerlings and Bucey’s agreed to the terms listed in the letter and all responded <br />affirmatively. Rowletle suted she feh that the revised plans showed a definite <br />improvement but she was not in favor of any increase in hardcover on the property. <br />•lI I*It was moved by Lindquist, <br />Variances for Ty Bucey at 2677 Casco Point Road with the submitted letter being part of <br />the applkation per the revised plams. Ayes 5, nays 1. Nolan stated he feh that the <br />bouse was too large for the site. <br />(#f> #inS PETER BOVEE, Mt OLD LONG LAKE ROAD • VARIANCES • PUBLIC <br />HEARING <br />Chair Schroeder noted that the Certificate of Mailing and the Affidavit of PuMkatioo <br />were on file with the City. Gaffinw reviewed the staff report and stated that staff <br />recoiamended approval of the request for a side setback variance to increase the roof <br />pitch in a substandard setback area, based on the findings listed in the staff report. <br />Charles Nolan inquired as to (he existing bouse not conforming to the footprint shown <br />on the submitted survey. Peter Bovee was |»esent and stated that there h«i been a deck <br />extending from the master bedroom which had been removed, and he would like tc put a <br />roof over the area, possibly to put back a covered deck or expand the bedroom. <br />Lindquist commented that the survey was not current and it should be up to date priar <br />to City Council review of the application. He feh that the Commission could approve <br />raising the roof, but any other changes to the proposal should be resubmitted. <br />Chair Schroeder noted this was a public hearing, but no one present wished to speak on <br />this item. <br />It was moved by Schroeder, seconded by Lindquist, to recommend approval of #1925 <br />variances for Peter Bovee at 840 Old Long Lake Road, to allow the applicant to raise <br />the roof.
