Box 66
Crystal Bay, MN 55323
Dear Mr. Gerhardson and City Council Members:
m 7
The existing road on Casco Point was laid down in 1971 . A thin. 1 1/2 inch of bituminous was
rolled out over the remains of an old tarred road tom up during the installation of the sewer and
water project. The road was described as temporary even as it was being installed. Twenty
three years later, it is far beyond its intended design life.
I would appreciate it if the Planning Committee and the entire City Council would look at
redesigning the existing roadway to include:
A. Curb and gutter with storm drains.
B. Buried utilities - electric, cable, phone.
C. 6-10" base course.
D. Modem lighting.
E. Bike/walk path, where possible.
Casco Point roads are not only worn out but unsafe as well. I'm sure nearly every family on
Casco Point has a story to tell about how they, or their children, or their pets, were nearly run
down by a car.
I’m aware that a project of this size will result in an assessment of the properties involved, but
I’m also aware that it will add value and quality to our lives on Casco Point.
I would be glad to attend Planning or City Council meetings when this subject is discussed. I’m
sure others on Casco Point would also attend. I would appreciate a call or a letter letting me
know when this subject will be put on the agenda.
^ncerely,___
J Bowers
