Note a lakeshore lot is allowed to have structures between principal <br />structure and street. The structure meets all required setbacks. The only variance required is <br />the variance to the allowed area for accessory structures on a property that exceeds 9 acres in <br />area. <br />In the fall of 1993, the Building and Zoning staff was advised of Mr. Jacobs ’ problems <br />concerning li;c immediate need to insull a sophisticated security on his property. There was no <br />way for the City to allow a building permit to be issued for this struemre because of the need <br />for the variance. Applicants ’ contractor was advised that in the recent variance approval in <br />September of 1993, a specific allowance for the total area of accessory structures was approved <br />in that land use review. The contractor was advised that if Mr. Jacobs was willing to remove <br />160 s.f. from an existing accessory structure and if total area was maintained at 10,633 s.f., the <br />City could proceed to issue a building permit. Staff heard no further from Mr. Jacobs or his <br />contractor. The applicant proceeded with the installation of building. Applicants' contractor was
