BuikJing & Zoning *\dministrator 1-%
r ^V' * \Jiiaory 20. I9W V£?«
Appotmmefll of New Member lo Buitdtiy Code Board of Appeals
Steve Anderson. Minfieloaka Fire Inspector, will he unabte to serve on the City’s &uidii^ Board
of Appeals. Staff recommends the appointment of Loren KofaiKn. a ConinKt Building OfTicial
for sixteen cities within Hennepm and Wright Counties. Staff has worked with Loren Kohnen
over the years and agree his building code expertise will benefit our Board. Mr. Kohnen has
agr^ to serve. The cncio^d resolution has been drafted for Council’s formal action. It
propo«s the amendment of the original Resolution #337g approving appointments for the year
1994.
The Building Code Board of Appeals will convene on January 26, 1994 at 4:00 p m. The appeal
involves the James and JoAim Jundl residence at 1400 Brackens Point Road. The issue to be
review^ involves the interpretation of the code as it relates to the need for a second exit from
liK third floor. The proposed use of the space warrants a second exit but owners claim a major
impact on improvements on secimd floor. Applicants ’ architect lias provided an alternative plan
to address the building code demands for a second exit but was rejected by the Building Official.
The applicants have requested a hearing before tnc Board of Appeals to present their case. Stall
w ill advise you of the outcome of that hearing at your next meeting.
