MN 55323 <br />Dear Mr. Moorse: <br />JAN 5 1994 <br />I vftXJkj like to introduce you to the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District We manage water resources <br />over a 181 square mie area in Hennepin and Carver Counties in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area. <br />Some cf Minnesota’s most highly valued water resources lie within our borders. Urban development and <br />ongoing rural activities have deseed the quality of our lakes. We \rant to preserve these resources <br />for future generations. <br />Our recently approved Water Resources Management Ptan provides us with some tools for managing <br />our water resources and new opportunMes for working with (kher agencies to pursue mutual goals. <br />New state arxJ federal programs provide other opportunities and challenges. <br />The enclosed fact sheet discuss^ our lake management activities. I feel it gives a pretty good overview <br />of what the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District does. It might assist your membership in <br />understarvllng our watershed district. If you agree, please distribute the feet sheet. <br />We are encouraging ideas and participation from state agencies, the District ’s communities aixi other <br />groups interested in restoring and protecting our water resources. The Minnehaha Creek Watershed <br />District managers believe that cooperative partnerships can best avoid duplication of government <br />programs and most efficiently achieve common goals. <br />Thank you for your support.
