The first phase will be for a Conditional Use Permit to be Issued for the worlc crews to complete the final clean up and removal of all hazardous conditions on the island. This should be the last time the City deals with a temporary Conditional Use Permit for the wor)c crew use as all hazardous conditions will be removed within the next 30 days. The second Phase of the Conditional Use Permit will be the one issued for the camp for only day use recreation. Staff will schedule the wor)c crew - temporary Conditional Use Permit before the Council on May 23, 1988. The second phase, day use recreation use will be brought bac)c to the Planning Commission on June 6 for finalization and recommendation and brought to the Council for final action on June 27, 1988. It is the hope of the applicant that they can be open for the July 4th wee)cend. Over night camping use with tenting will be approved sometime later in the summer season. Starr has advised that because of the specific setbaclc requirements for tenting, that a survey would have to be -jubmitted with that phase of the application. Staff has allowed the .pplicant to proceed with the day use recreational area phase with simply he site plan we have already on file.
