(Alternate moxind system allowed)
True Perc Rate * 64.3 min./in.
In the Primary site area a conventional system coUld be installed, however,
it should be installed very shallow because of mottled soil level at
3.8* and 4.0*. The method of installing the system should conform to the
design allowed by the City of Orono, dated 7-15-83. This design states
that fill be brought in over the area (preferable topsoil or sandy loam)
before the trehches are installed. In this case at least 12" of dirt
should be placed over the area, however, this is up to the inspectors
decision; also one should consult the memo from Orono to see a detail of this
shallow trench method.
For a 3 l^edroom house, the size of drainfield needed would be 1,000 sq. ft.
or 5 lines 3* x 75*. The depth of the trenches should not exceed 16"-20'*
with 12" of rock \mder the pipe and only 6" of cover over the system for
proper evaporation.
Drop boxes should be used to fit the system to the shape of the hill.
2 - 100 gallon tanks must be used (city code).
See design enclosed.
4'
Site Evaluator
Robert A.
