Entry pillars or monuments should be allowed for new and existing subdivisions, flanking either public or private streets. 2. Such pillars and monuments must be set back into the private residential building lot at least 10* from property lines, and meeting the required 30* sight triangle at the corner. P'^Tlars and monuments flanking private driveways within private property must also meet the 10' setback from property line and be spaced a minimum of 16' apart r.o provide for adequate emergency vehicle clearance. 4. Gates should only be allowed for private driveways serving from 1- 3 residences. Gates shall require a mandatory manual opening mn-hanism for emergency purposes. Where a gate is in place,an integral deli ery box and phone system will be required. Where the City determines that blockage of vehicles by a gate will create an unsafe backing up situation, a back-up apron must be provided within the private property. 5. For entry monuments or pillars with or without gates, no more than two pillars (one on each side of a road or driveway) may be constructed, and the top of the structure, excluding light fixture, shall not exceed 6'. The portion of the pillar exceeding 3.5' in height shall not exceed 5' maximum width on each side of the road or driveway. 6. Light fixtures that are a separate unit from the pillar may extend as high as 3' above the top of the pillar. Light fixtures that are intVsgral with the structure are subject to the 6' structure height litlimitation. 7. Pillars or signage monuments which indentify a private property may include only the name of the property owner and the address, subject to the sign provisions of Section 10.61, Subdivision 2. eS 8. For subdivisions, any permanent indentificatlon sign or monument shall be int)tegral with or take the place of the entry pillar monument, and the sign portion of the structure shall not exceed 6 s.f. per pillar, or 12 s.f. total.
