Structure will also be placed over portions of the existing septic <br />system so a new septic system will be installed. <br />Smith asked for clarification as to where the trees are to be planted. <br />Mr. Anderson showed where they are located presently and stated that they would be moved <br />to the east side of the structure. <br />Smith asked what applicants plan is for completing the second story. <br />Mr. Anderson explained that the only remaining improvement is siding. He explained that he <br />did not originally apply for the variance because he didn’t plan to build the garage as funds <br />were not available. Now he has applied for financing for improvements but is required to <br />complete the garage, siding and septic before financing will be completed. <br />Schroeder .stated that the Commission doesn’t want to feel pressured to approve the application <br />for financing reasons. He also stated that there is some concern about the length of time to <br />complete the construction and that is a larger than normal garage. <br />Mr. Anderson stated that the garage is oversized because there is no ba.sement and the garage <br />will serve as storage space. <br />Schroeder asked if the garage were a normal size would it remove one of the setback variances. <br />Mabusth explained that the setback variance could be minimized somewhat but that the <br />normal 2-stall garage is 24 ’. <br />Rowlette asked had any neighbors responded? <br />Mabusth re.sponded that there is an unsigned letter in the packet. <br />It was noted that applicant is removing the old driveway. <br />Nolan raised a concern about the entrance to the garage because of the .sharp turn and lack of <br />back-out area. <br />Mr. Anderson stated that he hadn't thought about it but that he would plan fora backout area <br />that would have to expand to both the north and west. There are no hardcover concerns with <br />the property. <br />Smith asked about how long until the work is completed. <br />Mr. Anderson stated that it is his de.sire to complete the work in 60 days and that work would <br />commence as .soon as he receives the permit and when he cai .schedule the septic work. <br />Schroeder asked whether the Commission should tie approval of the construction of the garage <br />to the completion of the past projects including the planting.s. <br />8
