Box 66 <br />Crystal Bay, 55323 <br />c* J <br />J j <br />Re: Variance and Permits for Addition and Garage, 130 Cygnet PI <br />Ladies and Gentlemen:• • <br />I a requesting to build these additions to accomodate ray brother and his <br />possessions. My Mother passed away in 1991 and I was appointed Personal <br />Representative for her estate. My brother, who cannot read and write, was <br />always taken care of by my Mother. After her passing, I was appointed his <br />guardian by the Sibley County Court. He is disabled and unable to work and <br />receives Social Security. <br />My brother inherited her house in Arlington, Minnesota, which with the <br />limited amount of Social Security he gets, he cannot afford to live there. <br />Also because he does not drive, I am required to drive to Arlington almost <br />weekly. My biggest concern is that he might get sick and not tell me, and <br />even if he does tell me, I am at least an hour away. <br />Therefore, I have chosen to sell the house in Arlington and move Eugene <br />into my home. Most of the addition to my home will be for his benefit. We <br />are hoping to get permission from Sibley County to use Eugene's funds for <br />this addition. So far this plan is looking very favorable and that this <br />request will be granted. <br />My children are in various construction fields and will provide most of the <br />labor for this project. <br />Since we are changing the roof line on the house and because the present <br />roof is just about due to be replaced, we will reroof the entire house. <br />The present siding is also deteriorated, so that will also be replaced. <br />Becp.’isc? our present garage will become part of the house, we will need a <br />new garage to house our vehicles. We propose to start with the garage so <br />we will have storage during construction. <br />Two of my sons have had considerable experience installing sewer hook-ups. <br />In fact they installed ray present septic system in 1984, that has been <br />working perfectly. Because this addition requires that I hook up to our <br />new sewer, I respectfully request that I be issued the permit to hook up <br />and have my sons do that while excavating for the addition. We can use the <br />dirt from the excavating to fill the old tanks. This should save me <br />considerable $ and because my sons are so knowledgeable in this field, all <br />requirements of the City will be met.* <br />I am trying to carry out my Mother's wishes to take care of my Brother as <br />best I can.
