MINUTES OF THE ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />HELD MAY 17, 1993 <br />ZONING FILE #1823 - CONT. <br />Bloemendaal noted there currently is screening along the roadway, <br />but due to the season changes, only helps part of the year. She <br />stated many times there are several vehicles parked on the property <br />for extended periods of time, including long transport vehicles. <br />Mabusth inquired if there is a business being run out of the home. <br />Rossing answered there is but the equipment other than a van is <br />stored off-site. She noted sometimes her other son wi Ii stop by <br />with his dump truck. <br />Berg asked if a certificate is issued upon completion. <br />Mabusth answered oniy with new residentiai construction, and a <br />final would only be required for this project. <br />Peterson noted if the permit expires, that only ensures the City <br />that work will not continue until another is issued, and not that <br />the project will continue. <br />Chair Schroeder expressed concern about the use of the garages. <br />Mabusth expressed the difficulty of policing individual properties. <br />She questioned where the equipment from the existing attached <br />garage will be stored until the new garage is completed. <br />Rossing said she proposes the construction of tiie garage pi ior to <br />the addition. <br />Nolan felt they should require a screening plan. <br />Mabusth noted the applicant in earlier discussions had alluded to <br />the construction of a berm along the roadway and the planti.g of <br />evergreens, but because It would be in excess of 100 cubic yards <br />of till, a conditional use permit is necessary. <br />Rossing noted the scrub trees along the roadway on the second lot <br />need to be removed. <br />Lindquist suggested they request a landscape plan be presented to <br />Council along with the application and that the project be approved <br />in phases. <br />8 <br />1 <br />-1
