He noted in the event the alternate site were to be <br />used, the City would be made aware through the permitting process. <br />Rowlette asked if the procedures for well permits has changed <br />recent Iy. <br />Mabusth explained that approximately 3 years ago the State Health <br />Department has assumed control over the permitting and inspection <br />of wells, and since they are a separate entity, are not required <br />to review or consent with the City on well locations. <br />Chair Schroeder noted it is not typical practice to make <br />move a well prior to final subdivision approval. <br />someone <br />Mabusth stated she had no problem with waiting to require the well <br />to be relocated until the alternate site is used, especially <br />considering the City has granted a setback variance for the well <br />to the existing septic system. She noted that the applicant was <br />aware of the City’s requirements for a 75’ setback prior to <br />development of the lot. <br />Ploetz stated the applicants prefer to wait to move the well due <br />to the additional cost. He rer-orted, to date, the applicants intend <br />to retain one of the lots for their residence. <br />Chair Schroeder asked if the applicants run their business out of <br />their home. <br />Ploetz replied the business is established in Wheaton Minnesota, <br />but they may use their home for some administrative work.
