MINUTES OF THE ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />HELD MARCH 15. 1993 <br />ZONING FILE 91S04 - CONT. <br />BelloMs not«d a varianca Mould still ba radulrad If tha rasidanca <br />wara proposad on tha forinar nouse site. <br />Kauffman stated ha would prefer to sea tha housa located further <br />back to reduce tha impact of tha drive. <br />Dale Runkai asked that tha application ba tabled to allow the <br />neighbors time to meat with the applicant. <br />Landsiadal asked that tha Commission act on tha application and <br />assured them that thv' applicant would not want to create bad <br />feelings and would make an effort to address the concerns. <br />It was moved by Bellows, seconded by Cohen, to recommend approval <br />of Application #1604 Michael Revier, 2691 Ethel Avenue, for an <br />average lakeshore setback variance to construct a new residence, <br />based on the following hardships: no other variance is necessary, <br />the former residence was located in front of the average setback <br />line, the extremely irreguIar situation of the Amundson lot creates <br />the hardship, the existing use of adjacent properties will not be <br />impacted, and no objection from Amundson. Ayes 3, nays 1. Peterson <br />voted nay. <br />Schroeder encouraged the applicant to consider the concerns of the <br />nei{.;hbors addressed at the meeting. <br />(§5) #1806 JON 4 SHIRLEY BILLIGMEIER, <br />2935 FARVIEW LANE - <br />VARIANCE - PUBLIC HEARING B:10 - B:25 P.M. <br />The Af f I davl t of Pub I i cat Ion and Cer t i f i cate of Mailing were noted. <br />Mr. and Mrs. Bllligmeler were present. <br />Mr. Bllligmeler explained he has not heard of any objections from <br />neighbors. He stated the tennis court is proposed to be placed in <br />front of the principal structure and 30* from the required street <br />setback. Any other area on the property would encroach mature trees <br />and the alternate septic site. <br />Mabusth noted the elevation of the property drops dramaticaliy <br />further back on the property. Staff recotmnends either the court be <br />reduced to 110’ to assure a 30’ street setback is maintained and <br />a retaining wall be instailed to protect thealternate septic site. <br />She suggested septic testing be done to find another alternate <br />site.
