Minnesota 55323 <br />Re; Olson Residence <br />File No. 139-1966 <br />Dear Mike, <br />We have reviewed the information submitted for the proposed retaining wall replacement <br />on the OLscn residence at 2601 West Lafayette Road. Our inspection seemed to indicate <br />that the proposed walls would be less than 4 feet tall. We have no significant concerns in <br />regards to engineering matters However, the tipplicant should provide additional <br />information as follows; <br />a plan indicating the location and height of the proposed walls <br />- the tvpe of wall proposed and details for the design <br />We would recommend a modular masonry block wall be used for the improvements. ITiere <br />are many manufacturers which provide an engineered wall system for almost any <br />application. The wall should have a draintile line installed to function properly in clay soils. <br />V\'e do not recommend graviw hpe retaining walls, such as boulder walls, due to the <br />difficulty in determining their effectiveness or durability <br />W.' <br />Please contact me at this office if you have any questions regarding this matter. <br />Yours very truly. <br />BONESTROO, ROSENE.
