She understood from Van Eyll that he liked his job and his team so she wanted to <br />understand why he left, adding it seems like a risky move. The takeaway she got was that things went <br />down a path and it was too late. According to Veach, Van Eyll said he thought it was the best thing to <br />support his team and he was willing to risk that and that spoke to her. She said she likes the idea of <br />staggering equipment purchases. As the wife of a fire fighter, she said she loves her fire family and still <br />thinks there is a way, adding it is not us or them. That doesn’t mean you can’t prepare for other futures, <br />she said. Most meetings have been quite respectful. She said she looks forward to continuing to get more <br />answers. <br /> <br />Walsh said he appreciates all the work the staff has put into the fire issues. He said he went to the State <br />Fair and got his four favorite food items. He is doing college tours with his daughter who is a senior. High <br />school football begins this week and the cross-country team has already has its first meet. He has been <br />having a lot of meetings with residents about parks and property issues, he said.
