Box 66 <br />Cr>-stal Bay, MN 55323 <br />RE: City of Orono <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment Review <br />Comprehensive Sewer Plan Update <br />Metropolitan Council Referral File No. 14023-4 <br />Dear Mr. Gaffron: <br />At its meeting on April 22. 1993, the Metropolitan Council considered the city of Orono’s <br />comprehensive plan amendmenL This consideration was based on a report of the Committee of the <br />Whole. A copy of this report is attached. <br />The Council approved the following recommendations contained in the above report: <br />"That the Metropolitan Council adopt the findings and the staff report as part of these <br />recommendations. <br />2. That the Metropolitan Council inform the city of Orono that it may adopt the amendment <br />and no plan modification is required. <br />That the Metropolitan Council inform the city of Orono that its rural service area^ policies <br />and land use controls qualify the city as an exception to the Council’s Rural Service Area <br />policies. <br />That the Metropolitan Council recommend that the city of Orono to complete its 1981 HI <br />Analysis update, establish an inspection program to eliminate illegal clear water <br />connections, and prepare and submit annual progress reports to the Metropolitan Waste <br />Control Commission and the Metropolitan Council of actions taken to solve infiltration and <br />inflow problems in the municipal sanitary sewer system. <br />3. <br />4. <br />Recycled Paper
