Noveaber 15, 1995 ■Rov: 14 1995 <br />TO: CITY OF ORONO <br />Th« •Honorable Mayor <br />Council Members <br />•Planning Coonnisslon <br />fROM: BOB AND JANICE CALLAN <br />^re asking for this variance to excavate mainly the <br />transitional area of this designated wetland portion of our <br />property for future preservation, drainage and inhancem6nt <br />reasons. <br />We feel that this will cause minimal impact to existing area <br />inhabitants and neighbors and will enhance and improve the <br />conditions and opportunities for waterfowl and all other <br />wildlife. <br />By the creation of this sediment pond, we will also insure <br />that better drainage conditions will always exist for our <br />proposed home. <br />In our discussions with the Army Corp. of Engineers, the <br />Watershed District, our planner and surveyor, we agree with <br />them in stating that this project, as it occurs mainly in the <br />transitional portion of our wetland, will have little or no <br />effect, and be seen only as an overall improvement for all <br />involved.
