Kianetonka in general. <br />4) Concerns over the conpatiblity of the access la Proposal #1 with the <br />zoaiag ordinance and standards of the City of Orono. <br />Eationale and Benefits of Proposal #2: <br />1) Vill be a cooperative effort allowing all the parties to have <br />influence on the outcose, while ensuring progress towards laproving <br />public access to Lake Hinnetonka. <br />2) Kay possibly result in aeeting Zone 1 parking goals called for <br />in the 1983 Lake Hinnetonka Task Force Report and the 1991 LXCD plan <br />3) Hay result in creation of a multi-purpose site providing several <br />foras of public recreation. <br />4) Vill allow for developaent compatible with the land use goals <br />expressed by the City and LXCD. <br />5) Creates a mechanism to address the concerns nsntioned above. <br />It is suggested that the LHCD lead and provide the franawork far completion <br />of Parts 2 and 3 of this proposal. This is consistent with the LXCD s role <br />as coordinator of public access issues described in the LXCD inanagenent <br />plan. It is further suggested that the task force proposed in Part 3 <br />consist of all couBunitieS( whether they have adopted the plan or not, the <br />DFR, the LMLOA, Hennepin County, and all other parties identified as having <br />a role in the LXCD plan. <br />It is hoped this proposal will begin the process of cooperative, successful <br />efforts to reach the goals for providing reliable public access to Lake <br />Hinnetonka, while meeting the needs and concerns of the comcunlties and <br />citizens of the Lake Hinnetonka area. <br />Further information on both Proposal #1 and Proposal #2 can be obtained by <br />attending the Public Open House hasted by the DHR between the hours of 4:00 <br />PH and 8:00 PH, January 21, 1992 at the Orono Educational Link Building. <br />If unable to attend the Open House, further information my be obtained or <br />comments mde by calling: <br />Gordon limball.
