The project is proposed by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources <br />Trails and Waterways Unit. The proposed improvements include 80 car/trailer parking <br />spaces, 15 car spaces, three boat ramps, four docks, a fishing pier, right-turn lanes on <br />County Road No. 51 (North Shore Drive) and County Road No. 135 (Tonkawa Road), <br />bituminous pathways, fencing, shoreline stabilization, landscaping and wildflower/prairie <br />plantings. The improvements also reduce the amount of hardcover on the site and manage <br />the stormwater runoff through the use of vegetated filter strips, grass swales with skimmer <br />structures anil^or detention ponds. The plans appears to be well done. The improvements <br />will make good use of the propert) and we would recommend approval. <br />We have no comments other than a maintenance schedule should be established for the <br />three areas with skimmers.
