That is why the goals are long <br />term in nature. The Metropolitan Council will propose affordable and life-cycle housing goals that <br />encourage your municipality to address key housing benchmarks. <br />16. Alter the Metropolitan Council and a municipality negotiate and set affordable and life* <br />cycle housing goals for the municipality, what happens next? <br />The municipality must prepare an action plan that describes how it intends to meet its negotiated goals. <br />Tie municipality has until June 30. 1996, to submit the action plan to the Metwpolitan Council. <br />17. Does the Metropolitan Council have :o approve the action plan? <br />Tie Act does not require the Metropolitan Council to approve a municipality‘s action plan. However, <br />the Metropolitan Council will comment on the plan s content in relation to the negotiated goals that <br />have been established, and it will attempt to identi fy potential resources available to the municipality to <br />help the municipality meet its negotiated affordable and life-cycle housing goals. <br />18.
