Reifiiest for Council Action continued! <br />page 2 of 2 <br />June 9, 1995 <br />Request for Off-Sale Liquor License <br />As the licensing process outlined above indicates, the license review process ^ <br />background investigation by the Police Department, then a public hearing held within 30 days <br />of the police reponr Because the Council has not had to consider issues related to otf-sale liquor <br />licensing in recent vears, the Council may wish to discuss these at a work session or ^a <br />CouncU meeting prior to moving ahead with the Orono Shopping Center application. The <br />Council could plan to do this during the time the Police Department is complctmg its backgroun ^ <br />investigation, unless the CouncU has concerns regarding the application that are sigmficant <br />enough that they should be addressed prior to the initiation of the background investigation. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQLTSTED: <br />Motion to direct staff to proceed with the background investigation and to bring the results of <br />the investigation back to the Council for the scheduling ot a public hearing.
