Access to the site was approved via an unimproved 30 ’ width dedicated <br />rioht-of-wav. The current roadway serves two residences. The City ot Orono maintains the <br />existing paved driveway. <br />The original applicant. A & T Development, never sought access onto the County road <br />at the east lot line. It has been staffs understanding that if the County found that other access <br />options are available that it would decline access onto County road. <br />Dave Zetterstrom of Hennepin County DOT has advised that he had approved access onto <br />the County road (review Exhibit E). John Gerhardson has also advised that he has worked with <br />Murphy Construction and w'ould approve the access onto the County road rather than adding <br />another user to the lin.ited roadway. <br />The applicant ’s contractor lists several findings in his addendum, E.xhibit A, that would <br />support the request to amend the original approved access plan. <br />Refer to Exhibit D, specifically Page 5 of the resolution, the approved access and <br />improvement plan to the undeveloped site. Refer to Exhibit C. the topographic map that also <br />locates existing curb cuts to the south of the subject propeny. Note residence to the immediate <br />south is served at Tonkawa Road. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />To either approve or deny the request to amend the access plan approved for Application <br />#1980 on December 12. 1994. The enclosed resolution has been drafted for Council’s action <br />if the access plan is to be amended.
