The contractor advised that Dr. Olson <br />has owned the property for just a year and is not owner's prime residence. It is the owner s <br />plan to remodel and expand existing residence next year. It is Dr. Olson s intention to reduce <br />all unnecessary hardcover w ithin the 75-250’ setback area as has been accomplished in the 0-75 <br />setback area. Planning Commission advised that at the time applicant presents plans for <br />complete restoration of the residence located within the 75-250’ setback area, that applicant w ill <br />be expected to consider extensive removals of hardcover pavings within the street yard. <br />Planning Commission Recommendation <br />Three of the four members of the Planning Commission recommended approval of the <br />application as propt>sed. The minority opinion telt that approval should have been based on <br />removal of additional stepping pads within the lakeshore protected area. This approval was <br />conditioned on the following; <br />1.AH hardcover improvements scheduled for removal shall be completed prior to <br />the issuance of a building permit by the City. <br />Applicant is advised that at the time applicant proposes future improvement to the <br />residence structure located within the 75-250’ setback area that applicant shall be <br />expected to consider extensive removals of the paved area within the street yard. <br />The enclosed approval resolution has been drafted per the findings and conditions of the <br />Planning Commission recommendation. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />To either deny, approve or amend the enclosed approval resolution
