The garage floor is several teet below <br />Elmwood Avenue and the driveway slopes down from the street. The drainage from the <br />street is not more than should be e,xpected in such a circumstance. <br />An existing draintile line on the property collects the drainage and carries it west along the <br />north side of the house and outlets some distance from the lake. Tlie erosion is created <br />where the draintile outlets on a steep slope. If the draintile line is extended down to flatter <br />slopes the erosion would be minimal. The draintile could be buried at a minimal depth and <br />the disturbed area should be seeded with a mixture recommended for shaded areas. An <br />alternative would be to place riprap at the outici to break up the flow and reduce velocities, <br />however, this option would be less effective. <br />The drainage on the diiveway near the garage floor could be improved by removing a <br />portion of the pavement and repaving a better swale leading to the draintile.
