MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETING HELD ON JUNE 12,1995 <br />(Mayor/Council Report - Continued) <br />Jabbour also reported that the DNR has obtained land from Jim Dunn on Maxwell Bay, <br />and ne«»ds to obtain one more property' to move forward on the Maxwell Bay access <br />project The historical society has given their approval to *ear down the gas station on <br />the proposed access site, which will be done prior to July 14. <br />Jabbour asked the City to express their appreciation to Gen Olson and other state <br />legislators, who sponsored the bill. <br />Planning Commission Chair Steve Peterson asked the Council for direction with regards <br />to the review of the private driveway ordinance. It was said the fire and police <br />depanments would like 24' roads with a 90* turnaround for emergency equipment. <br />Jabbour said the problem seems to be whether there is a need for the cul-de-sac at the <br />end of the drive Peterson commented that the fire department would like to see a loop- <br />type drive. The Council will report to the Planning Commission on this matter at a later <br />date. <br />ENGINEER REPORT <br />(#11) WILLOW DRIVE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT COSTS - <br />INFORMATION ONLY <br />Cook verified that the costs for the Willow Drive intersection improvements were <br />increased by 15% A public hearing will be held at the June 26 meeting of the Council <br />regarding this issue. <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT <br />(•#12) PERSONAL WATERCRAFT ORDINANCE AMENDMENT #136,2ND <br />SERIES <br />Goetten moved, Kelley seconded, to approve the revised Personal Watercraft Ordinance <br />#136, 2nd Series. Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />(•#13) EMPLOYMENT OF PART-TIME C.S.O. - DAVTD NELSON <br />Goetten moved, Kelley seconded, to approve the hiring of David Nelson as a Community <br />Service Officer, which is a part-time position with no benefits, at the hourly wage of <br />$6,431, effective immediately. Ayes 4, Nays 0.
