QUSSIIQtiS <br />1. Stress related to safety issues: <br />What's going on? <br />What is being done about safety issues? <br />2. What is a list of C.D.P. violations that may or may not be occuring? <br />3. How can communication between the shelter and the neighborhood be more <br />effectively established and maintained? <br />QEIIQ^S <br />1. Move the shelter out of the neighborhood. <br />2. Establish a Neighborhood Committe which consists of a membership of an <br />equivalent number (?) of shelter employees and neighbors. <br />3. Post police or pinkerton guards (somewhere). <br />4. Establish rules concerning women being dropped off and meeting men in <br />the neighborhood. <br />5. Ask police to commit to balanced police protection, <br />6. Lower the taxes of the neighbors. <br />7. Telephone the shelter each time an unusual vehicle produces fear in the <br />neighbo rhood. <br />8. Deal directly with neighbors about children riding the bus and <br />problems on the bus. <br />9. Educate children. <br />10. Remove the fence along the driveway. <br />11. Sit down and meet and educate each other. <br />12. Obtain information from other neighbors who support the shelter. <br />13. Inform the new residents that some neighbors will not like them, <br />14. Negotiate some limits on office space/programs (move out) to limit <br />traffic. <br />ISSUES <br />1. Support the western suburbs. <br />2. Additional programs and offices added. (Shelter says same number of <br />staff, same number of programs.) <br />3. Staff limits and number of trips, people, etc. were part of the <br />original proposals.
