MINUTES OF THE ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION <br />MEETING HELD ON MAY 18, 1995 <br />PLiBLlC HEARING - ZONING CODE AMENDMENT <br />(Discussion and Recommendation - Continued) <br />As a result, the language in items #4 and #5 was removrf, and language regarding <br />compliance would show up in the conditional use permit resolution. <br />It was noted that Operation item !#6 is an application requiremenr Peterson asked tf this <br />was a state guideline but Dan Hessburg said it was not Valene Hessburg satd they ch«k <br />the backgrounds of their advocates. It was felt that the <br />be decided how the background investigations will be conducted. <br />(#4) CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING TO A DATE/TEME TO BE <br />ANNOUNCED <br />Peterson said a vote would normaUy be taken at this time but wiU be conducted at the <br />continued public hearing on Wednesday, May 24. <br />Gaffion said the revised language would be completed for the continued publtc heating. <br />Rowlette said she would likely miss the May 24 meeting but wanted tt to be known ttet <br />she would prefer to have the property remain residential. She felt *e ordinance woring <br />was restricUve enough with the 500’ limitations to ehminate a problem with shelters being <br />located in any other areas. <br />Peterson reported on a petition received in favor of the shelter. 43 signatures wot on the <br />petition and came from the Westonka area. There were no comments for or against any <br />changes in the code. <br />The application will be heard at the Council meeting of June 12. Mabusth encouraged <br />applicMt to submit the appUcation for the CUP to Staff There may also be an application <br />for rezoning needed. <br />Rowlette encouraged the public to attend the Council meeting if they had any opinions to <br />— regarding zoning. <br />The public hearing will be continued to 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 1995.
