RESOLUTION CONCURRING WITH PARTIAL FUNDING <br />OF THE OLD CRYSTAL BAY ROAD BIKE/HIKE TRAIL <br />THROUGH THE COOPERATIVE TRAIL GRANT PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, the City has adopted a bike/hike trail system plan that links <br />residential areas with recreational and community facilities, and <br />WHEREAS, the trail system plan includes a trail on Old Crystal Bay Road, and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed trail on Old Crystal Bay Road will connect the Luce <br />Line Trail with Baker Park, and will provide a transportation link to the city facilities and the <br />Orono schools campus and its numerous recreational facilities, and <br />WHEREAS, the City is not able to fully fund the Old Crystal Bay Road Trail <br />project, and <br />WHEREAS, the trail project is eligible for funding through the Cooperative Trail <br />Grant program administered by the DNR. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orono City Council does <br />hereby concur with the partial funding of the Old Crystal Bay Road trail through the Cooperative <br />Trail Grant program; and does hereby name Tom Kuehn, City Finance Director, as the city’s <br />Fiscal Agent for the Old Crystal Bay Road bike/hike trail project. <br />ATTEST:Edward J.
