historic Excelsior On the shores of Lake Minnetonka n AREA CHAMBER OR COA April 28, 1995 TO CITIES OF: Woodland Wayzata Minnetonka Orono Spring Park Minnetonka Beach Mound Minnetrista Victoria RE: 1995 Fourth of July Celebration DEAR MAYORS AND COUMCILPEOPLE: The Excelsior Chamber of Commerce will again this year offer a the Fourth of July celebration from the waters of Lake Minnetonka adjacent the Excelsior Commons. The celebration will include live music, food and a fireworks display launched from Minnetonka Portable Dredging's barge. Unique this year, will be a recognition of the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II. The Clarence Clofer American Legion Post in Shorewood, together with other local VFW and American Legion groups, is organizing the celebration. Special festivities are planned and we will be host to a fly-over warbirds. On behalf of the Chamber of Commerce, I would like to ask your City to consider a donation in support of the annual Fourth of July celebration. Ours is the only celebration in the surrounding area and I am confident that many of your constituents enjoy the tradition and wish it to continue. Your cities donation in the amount of $500 will greatly assist the continuation of this tradition and it is our sincere hope that you will support it. As chairman of the Fourth of July Committee, I stand ready to answer any questions that your city may have. We will be in touch with you to provide additional information as the date approaches and, in particular, to get the word out to our veterans so they may attend the festivities.
