Gerhardson <br />Title Public Works Director <br />Administrator Reviewed:Agenda Section: <br />Public Works <br />Item Description: Irrigation System Repairs Orono Golf Course <br />Recently the above ground water storage tar^k for the irrigation system and club house water <br />supply at the Golf Course developed leaks in the bottom of the tank. The tank is at an age and <br />the leaks are so numerable the tank is beyond repair. <br />We have determined that it is the appropriate time to upgrade the irrigation system and install <br />a tank and appunenances to allow for future improvements to the irrigation system. Therefore <br />we have received estimates for just the tank replacement and a newer design pumpmg system <br />with a smaller tank with the ability to supply the appropriate amount of water to the entire <br />course as the remainder of the irrigation system is replaced. <br />The cost to replace just the 760 gallon tank is $4,010. <br />Tlie cost to install a smaller tank, piping and valving for a pressure system is $4,250. <br />Because this item was not budgeted, the monies to pay for this item will be funded from the Golf <br />Course reserve fund which has a balance of $231,745. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />To approve the repairs and upgrades to the Golf Course irrigation system in the amount of <br />$4,250 to be funded from the Golf Course reserve fund. <br />ch
