Gerhardson <br />Title Public Works Director <br />Administrator Reviewed:Agenda Section: <br />Public Works <br />Item Description: Community Development Block Grant Program 1995 <br />At the February 27th Council meeting, the Council conducted a public hearing regarding the use <br />of Community Development Block Grant Funds for 1995. The total amount available for 1995 <br />is $23,918. <br />After hearing comments from the public, the Council proposed the following allocation <br />contingent upon approval from Hennepin County Planning and Development: <br />Activity <br />WeCan <br />Westonka Intervention <br />Interfaith Outreach Community Partners <br />Sewer Connection Grant <br />Sojourn <br />Housing Rehabilitation <br />$ 1,500 <br />1,800 <br />1,500 <br />3,000 <br />1,500 <br />14,618 <br />Following the public hearing, 1 discussed the allocation pf funds with Hennepin County Planning <br />and Development, and was reminded that we are allowed only 15% of the total amount for <br />public service agencies. <br />The increase of $300 to the Westonka Intervention program exceeds the allowable to 20% and <br />after a review of the county-wide allocations, we may only be allowed to designate $1,500 to <br />them. <br />They also stated that "Sojourn" could not be funded as it was way over the allowable amount. <br />Therefore I have prepared an amended resolution for Council review and approval. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to adopt a resolution to approve the allocation of the 1995 CDBG funds,
