/I-Z-
Minnesota Department of Natural Resources
.MX! Lafj>cne Road
Si Paul. MinncNou 55155-40.
October 26, 1995
Mr. Mike Gaffron
Zoning Administrator
City of Orono
P.O. Box 66
Crystal Bay, MN 55323
RE: Maxwell Bay Zoning Commission Review Application
Mr. Gaffron:
The MNDNR is submitting the plans for the development of a Public
Water Access at 3390 North Shore Drive within the City of Orono.
The project involves the conversion of five parcels from their
existing uses to a Public Water Access Site.
This conversion involves the demolition of all of the existing
structures. Oversight of the cleanup of fuel contaminated soils,
sealing of wells and sewers, and a general site cleanup.
The new site will include three launch ramps, four ADA accessible
docks, an accessible pathway and fishing pier, portable toilets
and screening, parking for boaters and fishing pier users,
shoreline improvements, storm water management, landscaping and
other amenities.
We are hopeful that the site review will help the City staff and
members of the public to understand the project and assist us in
this access site development.
Sincerely,
Lawrence M.
