TO: <br />FROM: <br />DATE: <br />Mayor and City Council <br />Ron Moorsc, City Administrator <br />February 23, 1995 <br />SUBJECT: CouncU Update <br />1.Staff is working with Dick Flint and Lili McMillan to prepare a pre-application for a <br />$50,000 grant to assist in the funding of the Old Crystal Bay Road Bike/Hike Trail. <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />6. <br />7. <br />8. <br />Upcoming meetings; <br />a. The next Highway 12 mediation session is scheduled for Tuesday, March 14 at <br />3:00 p.m. <br />b. The next Highway 12 Policy Committee meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on <br />March 15. <br />c. The Park Commission has scheduled a special working session to be held at 6:30 <br />p.m. on Thursday, March 16 to discuss open space preservation, including the <br />development of a process for identifying and prioritizing open space areas in the <br />city. <br />In response to discussions initiated by the City of Mound regarding the potential sharing <br />of Fire Marshal service (fire inspection, fire prevention, and plan review), staff has <br />discussed the potential of a wider sharing of Fire Marshal services to include the cities <br />of Wayzata and Long Lake. The first step is to determine the level of need for Fire <br />Marshal services. <br />The management team has begun the process of planning a staff appreciation luncheon <br />to be held this spring. <br />The Personal Watercraft Ordinance and supporting documentation has been sent to the <br />DNR for review and approval. <br />Staff is working with the City of Long Lake to plan a joint clean-up day for this spring. <br />Staff will attend a work shop on safety and accident reduction programs as the first step <br />in developing an updated program for the city. <br />D. J. Goman who has worked for the city as a CSO for several years has taken a full <br />time position with the City of Mound Public Works Department. Staff is in the process <br />of filling the vacant CSO position.
