M.V 3332 3 <br />Dear Mayor and CounciImembera of Crono, <br />v«CAN‘ rwquesta that the City of Crono renew your <br />allocation to us of $1,500 from Community <br />Development Block Grant Year XXI funds. >« thank <br />you again for your support of $1,500 from last <br />year’s CD3G funds - you are an important reason for <br />the successes WeCAN achieved in 19941 <br />WeCA'L is a community-based, nonprofit organization, <br />dedicated to helping people achieve greater ael*^- <br />sufficiency and family atability by providing a wide <br />varietv of services to low-income residents in <br />western Hennepin County. <br />WeCAN* served 1,351 households in 1994. 'This <br />includes 23 households in Crono, five of which <br />utilized our Emergency Assistance Program and <br />received $1,701 in rent and utility aid; ten <br />households received 332 nutritious home-delivered <br />dinners in our Meals-On-Wheels program; one <br />household received job counseling services; 1 <br />household received help through our new Birthday <br />Shelf; three households received budget counseling <br />through our Financial Counseling Program, and eight <br />households received public assistance application <br />services. <br />A WeCAN representative will be at yr»r CDBG public <br />hearing to make a short presentation about our <br />request.
