Gerhardson <br />Title Public Works Director <br />Administrator Reviewed:Agenda Section: <br />Public Works <br />Item Description: Community Development Block Grant Public Hearing <br />For the past several years, the City of Orono has been receiving Community Development Block <br />Grant (CDBG) funds from Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through Hennepin County <br />Development and Planning. <br />This year the City will receive S23.918. A requirement for receiving the funds is for the City <br />Council to conduct a public hearing to receive citizen input regarding the appropriate use of the <br />funds. The public hearing notice must list possible eligible projects; therefore I have listed <br />projects that have been approved for funding in the past. If after the public hearing, the City <br />Council chooses to allocate the monies elsewhere, they can do so. <br />It is recommended to conduct the public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on February 27, 1995. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to schedule a public hearing to receive public comment regarding the City's C.D.B.G <br />grant allocation for 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 1995.
