The Planning Commission provided the following directives to applicant <br />concerning alteration of proposed signage: <br />Entrance signage - applicant is encouraged to contact Minnesota Department of <br />Transportation for advice as to typical signage or markings that alert oncoming <br />traffic of entrance to day care facility. <br />Discourage height variance for pylon sign adjacent to facility because of impact <br />of illuminated signage close to Luce Line. Members also discouraged the 36 s.f. <br />for a two-sided sign advising of need to trim back on signage area. Applic^t <br />was also asked to provide specs on lighting of signage for review by both City <br />Engiiieer and members of Commission. <br />Some members were concerned with the lighting of the apron over doomay. <br />Applicant should address the concerns v/hich appear to be ot the majority of <br />Planning Commission members. <br />The Planning Commission advised that although the facility is located on busy Wayzata <br />Boulevard that it is located within a residential zone surrounded by the Luce Line to the west <br />and a cemetery to the east. Excessive advertising signage is discouraged in residential zones. <br />Applicant’s next scheduled meeting is dependent upon receipt of the additional information by <br />Monday, July 10, 1995 in order to meet the agenda of the July 17. 1995 Planning Commission <br />meeting or August iQ. 1995 for the August 21, 1995 Planning Commission meeting. <br />Please contc Jeanne .vlabusth at the City offices if you have any questions pertaining to the <br />review of your application. <br />c.
