If it is an <br />African pigmy goat and lives in your <br />home, except for occasional outings <br />in fine weather, it i.s indeed a pet. <br />A nice pet. say nine of the twelve <br />neighbors, the Cedar Pet veterinary <br />clinic and Dr. Bill DeBold of the <br />University of Minne.sota's large <br />animal clinic, but most importantly, <br />the goat 's fnend and owner. His diet i.s <br />regulated to the fruit.s and vegetables <br />he prefers, and no tin cans are on the <br />menu for Billy Goat Korth in <br />Navarre. <br />The Orono City Council gave its <br />approval to this livc-in relationship <br />by accepting the offered definitions <br />of the goal as a pet. thus escapting <br />the prohibition for farm animals in <br />the Konh's zoning district. <br />Navarre development <br />Richard Kaveny appeared before <br />the Orono City Council to apply for <br />a subdivision of two lots, currently <br />zoned Bl Commercial, in Navarre <br />on the projea for client John Lam- <br />bin who has requested a building <br />permit to convert the existing <br />building, found to be a sound struc <br />ture. into a small eat-in and carry <br />out resuurant named “Chicken Joint <br />Restaurant.” <br />But the county is requesting that <br />the propeny owner provide a right- <br />of-way. If that is the ultimate deci <br />sion. the propeny should go to con <br />demnation because it obstruct.s <br />’ development, the property owner <br />feels. <br />There are parking and driveway <br />bamers proposed between the drug <br />store and the proposed restaurant, <br />and signs are planned to direct traf <br />fic though w idths are narrow and the <br />Joadinc'area is not efficient. Fire <br />lanes and hydrants would also bo <br />provided. <br />Discussion of the proposed sub <br />division led to no decksion: the coun <br />cil ubied the matter for further <br />study. <br />l^ke access questions <br />Sen.
