Cohen stated that he concurred with <br />Kelley's recommendation for denial. Mr. Barr was not even listed <br />as a resident of Minnesota on the property list. The list showed <br />that Mr. Barr o%med three lots and his address was shown as being <br />in Florida. N <br />\ <br />The applicants were present for this matter. <br />Zoning Administrator Mabusth explained that the Glews were <br />seeking a side setback and a street setback variance for <br />construction of a 2-car detached garage. The proposed structure <br />protrudes 34' in front of the principal structure. Mabusth stated <br />that the County Inspector advised staff that they would approve <br />the use of the turn around as long as there is no additional <br />encroachment into the road right-of-way. The turn-around would <br />work if a cut is made in the bank at the southeast corner of the <br />garage. The majority of the trees would be untouched. The Glews <br />are to notify the adjacent property owner to the south ten days <br />prior to excavation. Drainage will not be changed since the <br />garage will be raised approximately 1 1/2' higher to direct <br />drainage toward the county drainage ditch along the roadway. The <br />existing drainage to the rear of the garage will be taken care of <br />by an existing catch basin. The hardships would be the severe <br />limitations of the site and the unusual pie-shape of the lot. <br />Cohen stated that he would have no problem approving this <br />matter but he wanted to see the plans for the proposed garage. <br />Mabusth explained that the Commission members were each given a <br />specification sheet which states the type of construction, and <br />the maximiun height.
