Staff has reviewed this issue from both a <br />customer service perspective and land use policy perspective. The following memo identifies <br />a set of customer service elements, current obstacles to meeting customer needs, and options for <br />addressing those obstacles. The memo also suggests the development and/or clarification of <br />policy guidelines for the most common ty'pes of planning applications, and changes in the review <br />process for certain categories of applications. <br />I. Improvements to Current Planning Application Review Process. <br />Customer Service Elements <br />1. <br />2. <br />Ease and clarity of planning application form. <br />Ease and clarity of planning application review process. <br />This includes the necessity of going through a full public hearing <br />process at the planning commission. <br />3. <br />4. <br />Clarity of ordinances, regulations and requirements. <br />Duration of the process. <br />5. <br />6. <br />Perception regarding fairness and reasonableness of the city’s action. <br />Perception regarding being treated with respect and helpfulness by the <br />staff. Planning Commission and Council . <br />a.This includes staff willingness to assist with items required for the <br />application or to help to clarify the information in the application <br />to the PlarLoing Commission and the Council.
